Offender Management – using data effectively ALL PLACES NOW FILLED

With good quality data management as a foundation, a streamlined end-to-end offender management approach has been established to deliver Bolton's PPO strategy. This learning day provides opportunity to learn more about Bolton’s robust use of data to manage offenders:

Talk to Bolton's Offender Management Unit Sergeant to get an overview of Bolton Partnership’s Prolific and Other Priority Offenders (PPO) scheme, known locally as the 'Jigsaw Project'. Find out how the project has facilitated greater service provider knowledge of PPOs and their needs through better sharing of information and good practice and increased accessibility to services for offenders.

Meet the partnership's co-located analytical team to experience our unique Priority Offender Management and Information & Evaluation System (POMIES) - a local refinement of the J-Track system, based on the 7 pathways of the RRDP. Find out about how this system streamlines the process of data collection and provides a tool for enhanced sharing of information across partners whilst enabling partners to identify and address the offending related needs of PPOs.

Finally, attend our multi-agency 'Fuse' meeting, and learn more about Bolton's unique approach to managing offenders whose offending behaviour is becoming prolific and who are in danger of becoming classified as a PPO.

Bolton is a national leader in using intelligence and analysis to help reduce crime.
The adoption of a joint, co-located analytical team comprising local authority and police analysts provides opportunity for strong partnership working. Fully exploiting the GMAC business process system, the team combines state of the art systems with good partnership data to provide high quality intelligence and analytical products for all partners to utilise. This learning day provides an opportunity to learn about the strong evidence based approach used in Bolton. It provides opportunity to:

The PBG is underpinned by the production and presentation of a monthly tactical document, which provides an overview assessment of the emerging crime and disorder patterns and trends requiring attention or further analysis. It provides early indication of and identifies where there may be a requirement for changes in resources or tactical options. It will recommend appropriate interventions to deliver against the priorities set by the strategic group, which can be allocated to appropriate partner agencies. It also provides a review of ongoing / current activities, where progress in investigations or preventative initiatives are collated and reported for further discussion at the group.
This learning day is aimed at: those involved in the production of their local strategic threat assessment, partnership analysts and Community Safety Managers.

The seamless support provided through the work of the local Jigsaw project (Bolton's PPO Scheme) is underpinned by an outcome focused and responsive approach to case work with the 7 pathways of the RRDP at its core. This learning day provides opportunity to:

Visit the Partnership's Offender Management Unit at Bolton Central Police station, and visit Bolton probation's intensive offender management unit to meet the co- located partnership team, and witness the offender centric approach taken to the enforcement and support strand of the RRDP.
