Taking a Stand Awards
Bolton’s Taking a Stand Awards looks to officially recognise the commitment and courage of local people who have played a key part in tackling antisocial behaviour.
The prize money for these awards is as follows:
1st Prize is £250
2nd Prize is £150
3rd Prize is £100
Who is eligible?
The awards are open to anyone who has tackled antisocial behaviour in their area. Do you know an individual or group who has, for example:
Been a witness to antisocial behaviour and given evidence in court?
Set up a residents or tenants group to deal with neighbour problems?
Organised events to prevent young people committing antisocial behaviour?
Done anything else to support their community and tackle antisocial behaviour?
Young Person’s Award
In addition to the above award there will also be a Young Person’s Award specifically for a young person or persons who have helped to reduce antisocial behaviour.
Rules of entry
All applications must be returned to Jonelle Cox by Friday 30th July 2010.
Entrants must be a resident of the Bolton Metropolitan Boroughentrants under 18 must ensure a parent or legal guardian supports their nominationall
Entries should be verified by someone who can support the application e.g. teacher, a housing officer, police officer, council officer, your employer, religious representative, PCSO or your MP or local councillor
Previous winners/winning groups for Taking a Stand may be nominated but their nomination will be considered on the merit of work undertaken since the previous award was given
The panel’s decision is final.
What you need to do
Nominate an individual or group. Look at the criteria , or present it to a community group you are involved with and ask them to nominate
Complete the application form online. A signed, paper copy must be submitted if the person you are nominating is under 18 -
